Principal's Corner - Mrs. Racheal Leckrone

I grew up in Sorento, a small farm community located in Bond County. I currently live in Moro with my husband, Jarrod, and my two daughters, Alissa and Taylor. I graduated from SIUE with my bachelor's degree in elementary education in 2012, earned my master's degree in special education in 2015, and completed my education specialist degree in administration and special education director endorsement in 2017. In January, I am beginning a new educational journey and will be working towards my Doctorate in Education Curriculum Design & Instruction. I started my career as a special education teacher in Staunton and have since been a special education teacher at both Trimpe Middle School and Civic Memorial High School. This is my third year serving as the principal at Bethalto East.
When I am not working, I love spending time with my family and friends, running, reading, and traveling whenever we can. Taylor is a sophomore this year and plays field hockey and the viola in orchestra, and Alissa is a junior and plays the saxophone and the clarinet in band.
With small town roots, the Bethalto School District has felt like home since the very beginning. Bethalto East staff is a wonderful, loving, and dedicated group of people, who care about our students very much, and it is an honor to be the principal at such a fantastic school. Please stop by East to say hello and introduce yourself and do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, or compliments for the amazing staff! :)
